Work It - (review)

Work It is an energy-absorbing, inspirational dance comedy, and this film is a must to see because it fully epitomizes the essence of hard work, friendship, and finding yourself. The movie will make you feel motivated and inspired because of the contagious force of comedy and emotions fused together. It is not exactly innovative in its genre, but the message of being yourself and not worrying about flaws is sincere, and it makes it a positive viewing experience that one will keep revisiting.

The movie revolves around the life of a peculiar high school senior Quinn Ackerman, whose ambitions lay in getting accepted to Duke which all depended on her performance in a dance competition. After being denied an opportunity to enter her school elite dancing team, Quinn makes the decision to form an elite dancing group by the aid of friends and an ex-champion dancer. Ample fight scenes and active choreography, grounded embodiments of honest and (at times) nervous moments, and motifs of authenticity and strength are present throughout their course. The tone of the movie is just the right mix of hilarious and the touching heartwarming feeling which is all about passion and not about being perfect.

On the visual side, the movie is dynamic and colorful, the choreography is innovative, and the production design is colorful and diverse; an author tries to show various styles and personalities of the characters. The cast is delightful particularly the main female who manages to convey quirkiness coupled with sincerity. Vibrant direction of the film, together with playing soundtrack catapult the viewer in a world, where dancing serves as a force to empower oneself. In the end, it is a happy journey of self and belongingness and we all should not forget that the greatest dance is the one that is determined by the heart.
