Wrong Turn 2: Dead End - (review)

*Wrong Turn 2: Dead End* is a smart and intense sequel that takes the horror of the original and amps it up through it’s combination of slasher conventions and biting parody of reality television. About a survival television show hosted by Colonel Dale Murphy portrayed by Henry and directed by Joe Lynch. Prime time reality show contestants, portrayed by typical media images of show business participants, become the target of a savage inbred psycho family, thereby reflecting the perverse aspect of the cult of reality shows.

Loaded with ironic situations and filled with humor and horror the film at the same time makes people to laugh and shiver providing great examples of special effects. Lynch masters the harmony of the comic and the horrific outcomes of situations together with the shocking beauty of the West Virginia settings with a nervous sound that matches the speed of the picture.

Unlike most horror films, *Wrong Turn 2* if viewed in that light, satirises the extent to which people are willing to go for fame in a media obsessed world. This energetic and edgy sequel never put a foot wrong while astonishingly combining comedy and horror, thus trading the art of keeping the viewer entertained and questioning the sometimes thin line between being alive and being amused. However, it firmly establishes it on an epitome of awesomeness that worthy entry in the horror genre.
