This movie, and it is a miraculous and little known gem, is a thrilling romantic action packed film that leaves you breathless and beaten. The best thing about the movie is definitely its characterization and all the actors – especially John Lawlor and Joey Kwang deliver a good performance. The mood stays sweet-natured with some heartfelt scenes and intensive action staking to get the audience in continuous eagerness.
Two major ideas I feel are more responsive with me are the idea about identity crisis and the idea about moral issue. The aspect of Lawlor getting himself back to his past brings in an element of ethics that make the movie to be more than just an action thriller movie. Some of the characters may seem to be intentionally placed to serve certain parts of the plot and some parts may also seem slightly forced; nevertheless the following facts or the overall results of the films are worth these minor complaints.
Altogether “Weekend in Taipei” is a perfect movie that can make you a viewer to sit on a couch in full suspense until the end of the movie. It is adventurous and stimulating something that will fire up your feelings and leave you panting. If you want a movie which will show you an exciting time in Taipei it is this one!
