“Vivegam” is the action packed thriller type film made by Siva under the starring Ajith Kumar who nailed it by performing the role of an Interpol officer who is betrayed by his men. The movie lies in the loop of themes; including loyalty, trust, as well as vengeance thus framed within an espionage context. In the title role, Ajith displays charm and power; cinematically rare, he absorbs attention away from the others, although most of the actors do a satisfactory job, sometimes even providing depth to their characters.
The director has applied a lot of energy into making the film and Vetri’s cinematography is intense and good for the boosting action looks. The complete body of work by Anirudh Ravichander adds to the movie’s dramatic tension while some of the sequences have been used in the movie are similar to a number of times. The editing is fast so the audience’s attention is not lost during the course of the segment.
Despite this “Vivegam” properly captures emotional moments and action sequences but at some points can still be choppy. However, it still provides fun watch to the fans, along with the charm of Ajith Kumar, exciting action scenes allowing the film to find its proper place in contemporary Indian movie-making.
