Tiger Nageswara Rao is a cop’s version of the notorious bandit from the 1970s of India, directed by Vamsi Krishna Naidu. And the film is all about Nageswara Rao, a intelligent robber who has his way with burglaries and a knack of eluding the police hence earning him a special place in the heart of people of Stuartpuram, Andhra Pradesh. Due to the use of the quite active and bright shooting and rich design of the picture, the audience gets the impression of the actual conditions of life during this period.
Grandeur Mass Maharaja Ravi Teja once again surprises as a Nageswara Rao, come up with a smart and tricky performance. The interactions of the rest characters enhance the story as they live through the strained meetings with the outlaw. The entire story line of events looks like a real action thriller that includes elements of comedy at times. Even here, however, the audience does not get bored, although, at times, the writer takes too much time to focus on a detailed description of a particular event.
The moralities of protest against social injustice and crime form the basis of the film with Nageswara Rao symbolizing today’s Robin Hood. All in all, “Tiger Nageswara Rao” tries to present an interesting watch of outlaw’s life which provokes the experimenting thoughts about what is right and wrong, good or bad while having powerful performances plus the social messages. Of course, pacing could have been better, but it gives its audience something deep to think about regarding the hero’s moral compass.
