The Unborn - (review)

The film “The Unborn”, Davit S. Goyer is an example of a supernatural horror that can be described a psychological horror with a family issue. The movie rises around a young lady named Casey Beldon who appears to experience some strange occurrences linked with a concealed relative in the family, who is not seen. Here attention is drawn is shifted to the questions of identity and trauma as well as the consequences of all the horrible events which took place and the audience gets a kind of reflection on grief disguised under the matters of a simple horror story.

The movie also has some good cast, specially the lady who plays the role of Casey has given a good move is strength and weakness. Romy is best friend who brings humor in the screen while the character of Sofi Kozma a holocaust survivor adds a historical angle to the movie. Goyer’s direction enables the movie to become tensed with steady pace and low lights most of the time in the movie. Space is used in cinematography to create space panic and sound is used to force the audience to listen to the gradual disintegration of Casey.

The difference between shooting in an ordinary location and rather eerie interiors is made in production The editing rhythm stays more or less the same and turns up the heat. Thus, the bleats and jumps of the movie give its audiences a measure of the horror flick popular with the masses, but the dialogue resonating with passion is real as characters confront their enemies within. Last, “The Unborn” ties the psychological aspects with the supernatural formula, the meaning for spectators, as well as the admirers of horror movies genre.
