In amongst dozens, if not hundreds of show and tell generic storylines, “The Ingenious One” Season 01 provides the viewers with mystery, friendship, and revenge within the framework of an archaic culture that struggles with grief and forgiveness. It consists of Yun Xiang played by Chen Xiao, who comes from hiding because of the trauma from a murder of his family.
While he searches for the answers he ascends from an ichthyosis charaacther into a smart protagonist who gathers sophisticated allies including the mysterious Shu Ya Nan portrayed by Mao Xiao Tong. Geographically, the show is about the aftermath of violence and the two sides of knowledge or, in other words, trust in relationships. On the visual aspect the series is impressive in cinematography and action fight scenes which effectively capture the tenderness of the narrative.
Though some of these pacing issues sometimes halt the story, these parts of the story contribute a lot towards character development. In general, “The Ingenious One” is a spectacular and thrilling show that mesmerizes the audience and makes them think about the consequences of actions and interpersonal connections once the season is over.
