AGASOBANUYE LIVE

Saiyaara - (review)

A sensitive look into love, loss and survival, Saiyaara is an emotional experience that reflects on how strong bonds can either break or renew us. The story between Vaani and Krish is full of emotional undertones: Vaani is heartbroken because of her failed engagement and then depressed, and Krish is emotionally restless because of his childhood traumatizing experiences and his desire to succeed in music. Their directions intersect in crude and natural way and their developing relationship turns out to be the witness of the therapeutic power of knowledge and friendship. The tone of the film provides its balance between the moments of vulnerability and hope, which led to the experience that resonates with an emotional level.

The acting is convincing, and Vaani as the vulnerable and powerful person makes the audience sympathize with him, and Krish is hot-tempered and sensitive, which brings depth and realism to the play. Their personal struggles and development are thoughtfully captured in the direction with the help of music as a narrative tool as well as an emotional trigger. Cinematography and music are perfectly synchronized to a certain extent that they develop nostalgia, pain, and optimism- especially when referring to critical moments of creative revelation and emotional realization. The screenplay skillfully strikes a balance between the personal experiences of the characters and the unfolding romance between the two and ends with a very touching picture of the power of love.

What really struck me was that how the concept of love as the sole real solution to the challenges of life was emphasized in a way that was most effective through the work by *Saiyaara. The image of Vaani fighting the early-onset Alzheimer and her subsequent parting with Krish is both devastating and motivating, which is a tribute to the power of the human spirit. Their reunion and having a dream in the end of the film gave me a feeling of hope and that love, in spite of life and its unpredictable situations, can go beyond memory and time. It is a very well developed tale that glorifies the power of love and the courage to have a dream.
