“Priest” is a gripping thriller set in an apocalyptic world following the journey of a warrior priest determined to rescue his kidnapped niece, from vampires and defy Church rules by targeting sinners.
The storyline delves into themes of faith, betrayal and the internal struggle of the protagonist as he navigates between innocence and sin. Director Guillermo del Toro skillfully brings these elements to life with visuals, intense action sequences and a tense atmosphere.
While the film excels in aspects it falters in pacing and character development with some characters feeling underdeveloped and certain dialogues veering towards cliché at times.
