Petta Rap - (review)

The movie titled as “Petta Rap” is a flavor Tamil romantic drama with young man love and his ambition . The script focuses on a part- heroic figure Balogram, an ordinary middle-class man who longs to become a hardcore film hero… Janal a smart girl with the dream of becoming a pop star. Starring Elle Fanning and Kodi Smit-McPhee, it’s talented teenagers’ love experience which emphasizes the conflict of majority teens they have to turn into: should they accept the majority pressure and deny their individuality or join the society with their unique desire?

It is bursting with energy, has intense, bright and cheerful picture, energetic movements and music, pop-rock and traditional music that contributes to an effect of making it a youthful movie. The portrayal of the leading characters’ chemistry is realistic which makes viewer get rid of the issue of attraction and sympathy among the characters, including those of laughter, support or conflict.

But in terms of plotting, “Petta Rap” does occasionally cross over into stereotype territory, which left some of the secondary plots feeling a little undercooked, and the pacing is a little heavy handed in lead up to the finale which arrives with a certain breathless haste. Nevertheless, the film is a lovely picture, which is full of love and hope and call people to leave and be builders of their dreams and at the same time stay builders of their relationships. It cast’s chosen aspects of human life make it easy for its audience to relate, and the spirited direction helps audiences contemplate dreams after the movie is over.
