‘Paris Has Fallen – Season 01’ with the main plot in post-terrorist attack Paris depicts the story of protection officer and an MI6 operative who work together to find out one of the traitors. The series most shines in the very narrative where the show is filled to the brim with themes of loyalty and moral gray areas in spy work. On the scale of building characters the main heroes are unique, and the secondary ones sometimes seem quite shallow, and sometimes turning into cliches.
The direction and the cinematography do a magnificent job of selling the city and augmenting the action even tho there is a feeling that the visuals are not quite on the same hue at times. It heightens the emotional engagement, but the editing could be more concise at some points, thus affecting the flow.
They remain always in the sphere of tension between duty and human emotions; there is humor at one time, different thoughts at another, related to trust and personal sacrifice. As a whole the series of films provides mêlée action with realistic emotion providing an engaging plot which does not require the certainties of tomorrow despite having slight drawbacks.
