After the discovery of El Dorado gold in season three of Outer Banks, the Pogues will be focusing on an ordinary life during Part 1 of season four. However, in this second movie they come back to treasure hunting reason being that they have some financial problems, they are after Blackbeard’s ship and its treasure. The season also includes an 18-month time jump and keeps the balance between action and drama but is seriously flawed in the stock writing and dull challenges, such as having to pay taxes to be rich.
Pollyanna McIntosh portrays a villain character in the season adding a drama angle which is normally very much dramatic than required at times. While Kiara was a good addition, JJ became an even better character and was a lot more interesting than John B and Sarah. On the other hand, the sort of characters as Pope and Cleo appear less well-defined as when compared to the leading characters.
The season leaves the audience with some suspense, especially in JJ’s family situation, although the show has been slow most of the season. Occasionally, it is even fun and adventurous but suffers from uncoordinated writing and a two-dimensional plot; in this respect, it is an averate start that can hint at subsequent complex advancements. Old school fans would easily follow all that is presented since they already relate to all that is being presented, but for the new school audiences the same can be perceived as lack of depth.
