AGASOBANUYE LIVE

Ninja - (review)

Isaac Florentine leads the direction of “Ninja” through his 2009 film to explore honor perspectives and self-identity while guiding viewers across Japanese and New York City settings. The story follows Casey through his training in Ninjutsu from his demanding dojo master until his confrontation with Masazuka (Tsuyoshi Ihara) and their duel to gain possession of Yoroi Bitsu.

Florentine employs brilliant directing techniques to create powerful motion sequences and fluid cinematographic transitions that make their action sequences highly exciting. Adkins produces a deep performance via a powerful yet weak portrayal that enhances his delivery while the Masazuka portrayals of Namiko and Masazuka (Mika Hijii) strengthen the narrative content.

Although the story follows familiar genre conventions and reveals typical plot points it connects deeply with viewers because of its study of identity. Through its story the martial arts film shows inner conflicts which demonstrate our internal struggles are our most significant battles.
