AGASOBANUYE LIVE

Mr. Bachchan - (review)

The film “Mr. Bachchan” is a colorful homage to the traditional Bollywood atmosphere, with the motifs of honesty, love, and wit in an interesting and emotional plot. It was the story of Anand, the honest income tax officer fondly referred to as Mr. Bachchan in the movie, that appealed to every person because it was the classic battle between good and evil. His uncompromising character and fortitude precondition a story in which the values of moral and ethical power are glorified even in times of anarchy and perversion.

The storyline is expertly crafted to take into consideration serious storytelling and light entertainment with a poignant love story of Anand and Jikki, full of action and humor. The visual image is full of color and quick dance moves that make one feel the golden age of Bollywood. The acting is spirited, of particular note a strong yet kindly performance by the lead actor as Anand, and the villain is a welcome element of threat and devilishness that makes the actors captivating. The dialogues are funny and the music is catchy; the screenplay makes the film even more captivating, combining melodious love songs to the energetic dance music.

The only thing that really impressed me was the fact that the film glorifies integrity and courage and makes me hope and admire. Although it sometimes shifts into melodramatic scenes, which might have been better edited, on the whole, Mr. Bachchan is a happy, nostalgic affair. It is not an action-comedy, but rather a soulful celebration of righteousness, love, and wit that the storytelling magic of Bollywood has. I felt like revisiting the eternal conflicts of good versus evil when watching it, and I felt in a better mood and yearned to live more of its colorful world.
