Mary - (review)

Mary is a gritty and intense retelling of the story of Mary and Joseph’s pregnancy,SS Mary’s family turning on her pregnant and her attempts on the life of baby Jesus by King Herod respectively. Ponder on such main themes as faith, hope, sin and the clash of purity against greed as the virgin Mary is punished for getting pregnant. A film takes the audience chronologically and keeps them stranded in Mary’s feminized experience of the love for her child at the same time as the dangers of such a world.

The work of the cinematography is to show the best in Mary before the funeral and the worst in her after the death of her husband and birth of her son The cinematography emphasizes the hope for a safe crossing in contrast to the dangerous crossing. However, it is quite clear that the movie cherishes the friendship between Mary and Joseph who face a lot of hardships in order to protect baby Jesus. The acting is excellent with Mary played half dizzily frail but very convincing and Joseph is portrayed as strong willed and positive from beginning to end.

Beauty of the movie also enhances emotions behind the movie but in some places it is slow or fast than the other. In all, Mary is a visually beautiful work and the powerful story of sacrifice, love and the hard moral struggle against faith that it portrays—the final scene of a raging dependent woman working in the fields—the origin. It cares the viewers even when they have left the theatre because it is the story about great people who are very courage and who have to face different and even uncomprehensible difficulties.
