Love Per Square Foot - (review)

“Love Per Square Foot” portrays life in Indian cities with charm, sincerity and reflects on love, ambition and finding somewhere to live. The film follows the two young professionals, Sanjay and Karina, as they work hard to earn more but still need a stable home. Deciding to marry just to get a home is a funny and authentic choice that makes readers relate to the choices many people make for happiness. It uses comedy as well as heartfelt scenes to ensure the characters go through a journey that feels real and involves the audience emotionally.

The most noticeable part was the film’s look at how a home is different from a house: one is an emotional refuge and the other is merely material. It shows us that a house is about more than construction; it gives us love, belonging and security. The way the main actors perform is real which helps make their expectations and struggles more heartfelt. The story is told with speed and the camera enthusiastically pictures how busy cities are and how deeply the main characters feel missing something. The music and mood in the film move together perfectly, going from frequently silly scenes to dramatic and emotional ones.

On the whole, the movie “Love Per Square Foot” goes beyond common stereotypes and gives a real and thoughtful account of relationships and dreams. It put a smile on my face, made me think and filled me with hope whenever love and home are united. Because of its kindness, truthfulness and how easy it is to relate to, becoming invested in this film leaves us seeing the significance of everything we do for ourselves and those around us.
