AGASOBANUYE LIVE

Jaat - (review)

Jaat is a tense action film that takes place in Sri Lanka and along the Indian border after the war. The themes it looks at are morality, justice and dealing with chaos and corruption. Thanks to its realistic script, viewers get caught up in a world where only violence and extreme acts seem to exist. Switching from large to small shots gives the movie a mood that matches its complex tale, making sure the audience stays interested.

The way the character of Jaat is played by the actor is truly compelling. Because Raju’s personality is so rich and his character is alone, viewers feel connected to the story, helped by realistic performances from the hardcore Ranatunga and sturdy police Team. Every scene seems well put together and the action is quite realistic instead of being focused on spectacle. The music fits the mood very well, increasing suspense, strong emotions and making the film even more gut-wrenching. The main part of the movie that stands out to me is the hero fighting off immense evil, making people feel both encouraged and respectful in the middle of the storm.

The novel still has some issues even though it is strong in certain ways. You occasionally get the feeling that the movie is trying to do too much and, as a result, the dialogues are sometimes not as sharp as they should be. Some of the characters’ motivations are not properly developed, stopping us from getting too emotionally involved. Still, what remains from the movie are its emotional power, spectacular fight scenes and messages about doing the right thing. This film showcases courage at its peak in a bleak setting, giving the audience a dose of intense action and caring, proving that looking after justice needs strong will and honor.
