Cinderella Game S01 [Pt.2] - (review)

The drama, “Cinderella Game,” explores family, betrayal and figuring oneself out by mixing various storylines. Koo Ha Na walks us through her character’s story from being naïve to becoming stronger. Because she must face dangers from those close to her and confront difficult realities about her family, the story dives into the difficulties of keeping ties while dealing with painful truths. Young Kim Joon Hur’s depiction of this shows that developing strength inside is important and that it can be tough to find who we are again.

In the series, the authors also focus on relationships, explaining how they can give us comfort or add to our troubles. The story is made richer by the fact that the main character struggles with the needs of her family against the need to give them justice. Shifting from hostility to caring, CEO Hwang Jin Gu makes the story about redemption and what empathy can do for healing. The changes in these characters hold viewers’ attention through the whole series.

The film is impressive to look at, with cinematography that highlights both the epic and the small which improves the storytelling. Intense moments and action play evenly against each other in the script and the sound helps emphasize important scenes. Thanks to the adept directing, the series glides easily, making it easy for the viewer to feel connected to the heroes as they find out more about themselves and act on revenge. Essentially, the series is memorable for its true-to-life stories and powerful acting, making viewers reflect on how love, resilience and staying loyal to yourself get you through challenges.
