Chinese Zodiac - (review)

Chinese Zodiac is an action-packed adventure movie that delves on the amazing combination of martial arts, comedy, and Jackies dare-devil stunts. Focusing on the story of the famous bronze Chinese zodiac heads stolen in the Old Summer Palace, the movie is a world-wide voyage adventure full of threat, laughs, and heritage. Played by Chan, the Asian Hawk character is charismatic and resourceful without trouble blending action and heartfelt moments. The narrative has found the perfect balance between the exciting action scenes, such as the escape and the fight scenes, and some comedic moments and musings, particularly the aspects of the cultural background and greed.

The movie is aesthetically stunning with iconic locations, innovative moments of action and amazing special effects that increase the tension. The soundtrack is used to further the tensions and the excitement with its unstoppable tempo. The most relatable part was the implicit reproach of taking advantage of cultural artifacts to make a big profit in the movie that depicts the danger of greed around the preservation of history. The character played by Chan is very resilient and morally strong in his conviction that heroes should guard the treasures that are valuable, be it material or cultural.

Chinese Zodiac made me feel exhilarated and thoughtful. It is not simply one of those epic set piece movies, it is a hymn to culture and a way of blaming those who would make a fortune out of it. The comedy, the heart and the action all blend in a way that the movie is interesting and enjoyable at the same time. It is a lesson about the need to protect history conveyed with power and charisma at the level that only Jackie Chan can achieve.
