Black Hunting Operation is a strong police drama which discusses the never ending struggle against a harmful underground money lending gang. The movie revolves around the character of Officer Qin Feng who is a highly driven and tactical individual who leads his team to break the criminal syndicate headed by a shrewd man, Wu Xiangfo. The demands of debt through kidnapping hostages make things more serious, and the violence of the organized crime is emphasized with the ruthless strategies of Wu. It is filled with a tension created by dramatic confrontations, dramatic negotiations, and in-your-face action scenes and pulls the audience into a dirty city environment where nobody has a sense of law and order.
The film, in its purest form, delves into the issues of perseverance, justice and moral righteousness. The sense of hope and strength is brought through the commitment of the characters to save innocent lives and prosecute criminals. The friendship between Qin Feng and his team is also emotionally charged and provides a human perspective to law enforcement under threat. I was deeply impressed by the film as it made me respect law enforcers who risk their lives every day to bring justice to people. All in all, it’s a chilling, emotionally-charged portrayal of the current war on good and evil, as it serves to remind the audience of the courage it takes to face the darkness and to save the innocent.
