Fury 12 Hours - (review)

In Fury 12 Hours, viewers are plunged into the turmoil of an intense, 12-hour event happening in the Philippines. A retired special forces soldier, haunted by the loss of his wife and daughter in a riot, is at the heart of this book. Most of the film’s emotional impact comes from his unstoppable need to get justice. An unexpected, harsh attack by terrorists on a safe house close to Coors Town sends Lei Jun spinning back into the world of his worst fears. The action happens live, showing us his frantic struggle to stay alive, protect those around him and deal with his internal struggles.

It does an excellent job of capturing the unrest and fighting, thanks to its dirty shots and scenes shot from tight places. These scenes are realistic and water down nothing with fancy techniques; you really feel the immediate danger. Actors in the film do well, with the lead performer truly showing Lei Jun’s emotional challenges and firm ambition. Despite all the fighting, times the narrator pauses to reflect on the protagonist’s internal life show how committed he is to stay alive.

What I didn’t forget about the film was its look into toughness, recovering from dark times and how humans face such challenges. His story shows that even those who have experienced great tragedy can become powerful and protective. Although some moments are easy to foresee, “Fury 12 Hours” deals a strong message about staying strong and choosing to keep moving through hardship.
