Earth has become an uninhabitable planet due to climate change and nuclear fallout in 2248 causing people to live in underground cities as their last refuge. Human survival in underground habitation faces additional challenges from the “Veil Plague” which has destroyed most of the population. Humanity established an alternative survival method which developed into the vital protection system sustaining endangered life after original safety plans lost their purpose.
Zara dedicates herself as a healer to battle the spreading Veil Plague because she understands its destructive nature. A destined cure resides on the deserted surface and this discovery leads her into executing a risky objective. Zara leads Elias the disillusioned ex-military man and Mira the scientist to explore what remains of their ruined world as they face dangerous circumstances and deep conflicts between them.
The movie presents survival battles which combine sacrifice with the search for hope despite despondent conditions. Through dramatic action scenes and dramatic camera work the film displays the tight confining underground existence against the haunting landscape of the surface while showcasing human determination. Zara and her crew face multiple factions while struggling with different fears since humanity’s survival depends on whether they should pursue hope in this dark world.
