AGASOBANUYE LIVE

Special ID - (review)

The film “Special ID” is a fast paced significant action thriller centers upon Chan Chi-Lung, a ace undercover policemen goes deep inside the most dangerous triad gang led by the cruel Cheung Mo-Hung. The movie start with the action scenes that giving the signal of suspenseful game between the hunter and hunted showing the power of Lung in fight and in dodging the dangerous mob. The film looks great; it has a very stylish feel to it, the setting of which is very much in tune with actual triad gangs.

But to my mind it is the tension between the main character, Lung and his former pupil and best friend, Sunny that resembles real life most. This makes the confrontation between them all the more interesting because they’re shown as friends and colleagues in the show. This is also complemented well by a well done score, when Lung is fighting his former comrades, the music pulsates with energy.

This is a film full of relentless momentum, respected fight sequences, and cool explosions – in short, if you are an aficionado of Hong Kong action cinema and/or an eager fast car/daring stunt chase seeker, you’ll love it. These few characters are presented as flat as cardboard, but one puts this minor cheat to the more expansive picture that the movie paints.
