The Last Kumite - (review)

The last kumite is a very violent martial arts movie about a man named Michael Rivers a father and a martial art experts who has to take part an illegitimate tournament so that to save his daughter. It illustrates such motive as sacrificing for a cause, soldier loyalty and the stress resulting from the war and it has a tense and pertinent theme as Rivers meet other soldiers with the same purpose. The lead actor does a great job with the martial arts but also other emotions and other actors make the story better.

Tightly choreographed in directing, and backed up by lively filming, the movie draws the audience into its staking elements situated in the different visually appealing locations. The score is very useful to add intensity during some fight scenes, cleaver editing to keep the pace fast and give continuity between the action and growth of characters. Despite the fact that the film has many scenes typical for the martial arts movies, the general excitement and involvement observed the clichés.

Lastly, “The Last Kumite” has grown to be not only an action movie but a touch on love and determination more so a parent for their child. That is the reason why the film interesting and outstanding within the frame of action movie subgenre: it has both the action and profound story.
