*Jumong* is an HD historical myth based on the legend of its protagonist, Jumong, who established the Goguryeo state in 37 B.C. It deals with issues to do with predestination, determination and individualism in the developmental journey of Jumong from the son of a heavenly prince to a heroic leader, who has to fight for power and acceptance.
The story usefully interlinks main themes as filiality and identity, and reveals the principlest of obedience and greed inherent in the characters. In terms of visuals, *Jumong* stands top notched with perfect detailing and portrayal of Korean tradition and history owing to technical brilliance incorporated in the dress adding on to the realistic look.
However, beyond the historical epic components *Jumong* effectively establishes an excellent drama that focuses on the inner wounds of its protagonists while linking these wounds to the processes of state construction.
