Vikings: Valhalla S01 - (review)

*Vikings: Valhalla* reboots the Viking narrative a century after the first game, retelling Leif Erikson, Freydis Eiríksdóttir, and Harald Hardrada. These episodes are devoted to issues connected with exploration, conquest, and, thus, the identity of the characters and their interactions. Audacity is symbolised by character Leif, the rebellious spirit of Freydis, and intensity reflected in Harald making the cast very charged.

Although Davis does well by getting drama right alongside action, often switching between wide shots and close-ups, the pacing is uneven: some episodes are just informative. It does sometimes pull at the melodramatic, regard for the dramatic, and varies the relationship to emotional impact. However, from the perspective of painting the picture of the difficulties of the preservation of loyalty, faith and the formation of Self, the series provides the audience with a good reason to think about their own journey.

In summary, *Vikings: Valhalla* is quite an inspiring sequel of the Viking saga, where the myth was never apart from people. This would otherwise be a stellar RPG production full of a fascinating world and as epic a story as one could ask for in an animated series filled with adrenaline-fuelled, dramatic events and a few well-timed heartfelt moments.
