Simmba - (review)

“Simmba,” a captivating movie released in 2018 by Rohit Shetty features Ranveer Singh as Sangram Bhalerao, a police officer who undergoes a transformation, throughout the storyline. Initially portrayed as a character Sangram experiences a moment that leads him to reassess his life choices. While some may argue that Singhs portrayal at times leans towards exaggeration the evolution of Sangram from an individual to a remorseful figure resonates authentically with viewers allowing them to empathize with his journey.

The film successfully blends elements of comedy, action and drama without losing momentum thanks to Shettys direction and crisp editing. Exploring themes of justice and morality in nuanced ways “Simmba” presents characters that are not simply defined as heroes or villains. Exist in shades of grey. The cinematography enhances the storytelling by immersing the audience in the narrative while the chosen music adds depth to moments.

Although certain scenes may come across as clichéd or overly didactic in their messaging the overall impact remains engaging and thought provoking. In essence “Simmba” offers insights on topics such as vengeance, personal growth, accountability and ethical decision making. Its multifaceted approach makes it a compelling and memorable cinematic experience for audiences seeking more, than surface level entertainment.
