X-Men Origins: Wolverine - (review)

*X-Men Origins: Perhaps one of the most anticipated films of 2013, Wolverine* focuses on the past of the mutant I know as James Logan with directional input coming from Gavin Hood. In this movie, background with Logan’s brother, Victor Creed, and general history of how Logan became adamantium enhanced mutant is shown. For this reason, the film displays how both have been close through their childhood which was defined by some form of abuse, combat experiences in different American wars, although the story lines can be twisted at times.

Hugh Jackman plays Logan to the best of his ability: a broken man torn between the extremes of murder and simple wanting to start a family be a father and be with a woman he cared for, Kayla Silverfox. The presented by Liev Schreiber Victor Creed is a powerful negativecomic strip counter Logan, which also reveals his values. There is also Logans experiences with Weapon X which enhances his strength but serves only to confuse him further.

Despite this film being centered on themes of brotherhood, betrayal and identity, the way these is depicted in the movie might appear quite incoherent especially towards the very end; some character fail to undergo transformation. Despite its flaws, *X-Men Origins: For fans Wolverine* is fun as they get to know more about him and his time at Weapon X while at the same time being reminded that heroism is not always as sunny as it seems.
