*Jumong* is a rather bright and inspiring HD historical drama providing the audience with an insight into the life of the legendary hero, founder of the Goguryeo state in 37 B.C. This series sensitively depicts deep concept like fate, decision, and independence and travel through the transformation of this hero from the son of heaven prince to the strong king successfully overcame sea of power and acceptance. The film combines the motifs of filiality and identity, bringing the focus to tendence of both the characters – obedience and greed.
The show doesn’t spare the audience the tortuous inner conflict of the characters, and that gives people a rather good view inside the heads of those who have to go through the trials of state creation. In terms of visuals, *Jumong* flies high, the show depicted Korea traditions and history appropriately and add the right costume that suits the historical concept required for the program. Each frame and even each shot is a testimony of the technical mastery which is imperative to capture this colourful culture of the nation.
However, keeping in mind that the drama is not just a beautiful exterior à la historical epic, *Jumong *gets the right energy by allowing the leading characters to dig through their sorrow. These personal woe can be easily recognized and a specific suffering is linked to increased formation of the nation. This brings some realism to the movie and instead of having a simple movie about winning, they give you a story of survival and extortion.
Last of all, *Jumong* does not only write a bright-colored description of the ancient Korea Kingdom but also an attractive internal story. It morphs into a symbol the viewers should consider their and their family background and in that way Sosa makes a watchable television series.
