AGASOBANUYE LIVE

Ishq - (review)

Ishq is an energetic and tongue-in-cheek interpretation of the class differences, romance, and the ridiculous extent that money and bias can reach. In a rather humorous way the movie talks of the two wealthy fathers, Harbans Rai and Ranjit Rai, who despise poverty so much that it drives them in obstructing their childrens love affairs with the poor forbidden lovers. As the daughter of Harbans, Madhu falls in love with a poor mechanic called Raja, and Ajay, the son of Ranjit, is in secret love with Kajal who also has a humble social status, the conflict of values is established, and the battle between hearts and money begins.

The funniest element of Ishq is its satire disguised in a light comedy narration. The acting gives the story a likability, as the prejudice and desperation of the fathers is played up to provide some humor and pathos. The tone of the film is somewhere between a satire and emotional drama, as the absurdity of the class discrimination is brought to the forefront with the help of entertaining situations that, on the one hand, display the hypocrisy of the society, and, on the other hand, tug at the heartstrings. The very plotlines of love stories remind people that real love usually does not recognize any social norms, and it makes the spectators think about the absurdity of narrow-mindedness.

On the visual level, the movie uses bright colors, catchy songs to emphasize a satirical mood, and the tempo is quick and entertaining. The humor and emotional scenes of the screenplay are organically combined, which makes the viewing both fun and valuable. Ishq has been close to my heart as a sharp observation of the fault lines in society, and how love is a force to be reckoned with and can cut through deep-seated biases. It is a charming movie that will make the audience ponder over the absurdity of discrimination and cheer the ever-powerful love.
