Exodus: Gods and Kings - (review)

“Exodus: Gods and Kings” is a beautiful adaptation of the biblical story attached to Moses, who was chosen by god leading his people from slavery in Egypt. Ridley Scott, the director of this movie illustrates an old world in its scale and architectural structures. This film is about power, faith and identity with Christian Bales powerful performance as Moses and Joel Edgerton’s depth in playing the character of Ramses.

The minor characters are mostly upstaged, making it difficult to invest emotionally in their respective ends. Also, the film does not represent historical and cultural authenticity issues with white actors playing Middle Eastern characters. “Exodus: “Gods and Kings” is still an ambitious effort that boasts visual pizzazz.

The grandeur and detail of the film make for an enjoyable cinema experience; especially during awe-inspiring plague moments. “Exodus: “Gods and Kings” is an enchanting movie epic that will leave people astounded by the incredible visual landscape it presents, which should spark fierce arguments regarding the responsibilities of historical filmmaking.
